1. National University of Sciences and Technology

NUST as it is commonly known is the topmost university in the field of engineering in Pakistan. NUST university was built after merging civilian and military resources. The main campus is present in Islamabad and the other campuses are present in Rawalpindi, Risalpur and Karachi.

NUST is renowned in Pakistan as the best engineering university and has many engineering fields as well as business fields but it is well known for its Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Department.

2. Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences

PIEAS as it is most known is the second best engineering university in Pakistan. This university was considered first in the best engineering universities ranking by HEC.

It was established as a public sector university in 2000. PIEAS alumni have also received the national civil awards in their various contributions. It is located in Lethrar Road, Islamabad.

3. University Of Engineering And Technology

UET Lahore as it is most commonly known is considered one of the oldest and best engineering universities in Pakistan. This university was initially known as Mughalpura Technical College. The main campus is present in Lahore and also this university has three satellite campuses; the Faisalabad Campus, the Kala-Shah-Kaku Campus, and the Rachna College .

4. Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute Of Engineering Sciences And Technology

GIKI as it is known is one of the most prestigious and best engineering universities in Pakistan. Founded by then President of Pakistan, Ghulam Ishaq Khan in 1993, GIKI is one of the only fully residential campuses present in Pakistan and is located in Swabi, KPK.

GIKI offers engineering related courses such as Electrical engineering, Computer Science etc but is especially known for its Mechanical Engineering program.

5. University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar

UET Peshawar as it is known is was founded in 2002 and was named as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar but after 2002 its name changed to “University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar”.

UET Peshawar is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities of the United Kingdom. It offers various programs such as Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc.

9. NED University of Engineering and Technology

NED university was established in 1921 and it is considered as one of the oldest universities of Pakistan. In late 1921 this university was established to produce the civil engineers that will work in building the Sukkur Barrage.

UET Taxila as it is known is another campus of UET. It was established in 1975 as a campus of UET Lahore.

It offers Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, Telecommunication and Information Engineering programs and is ranked as the 10th best engineering university in Pakistan.
